Refrigerant Leaks

Leaks will not be fixed by just adding more refrigerant. A trained technician should repair any leak, test the repair, and then charge the system with the correct amount of refigerant.

Inadequate Maintenance

If you don’t change the filters and the coils inside get dirty the air conditioning system itself with not work properly and the compressor or fans will most likely fail early.

Electric Control Failure

The compressor and fan controls will wear out, especially where it turns on and off. Corrosion of wire and terminals is also a problem in many systems. Electrical connections and contacts should be checked during services by a professional.

Sensor Problems

Each room with a thermostat has temperature sensors which measures the air. If the sensor is knocked out of position, the air conditioner could cycle all the time or behave erratically or not even touch the coil.
